Second Weekend Events
February 3rd
Four Winds Showcase
February 3 from 5 – 9 pm
Olympic Plaza
Connecting Indigenous communities with the greater urban community, Four Winds presents music, dance, and culture. Featured artists include Bryce Delorme, Curt Young, Toosick, Armond Duckchief, Tootoosis Crew, Fawn Wood, Drezus, and DJ Nyla.
Luminescent Tall Tales
February 3 and 4 from 7 – 9 pm
Olympic Plaza
It doesn’t get any taller than dancers on stilts! Watch them move in awe as their costumes illuminate the plaza.
Art and Light Walk
February 3, 4, and 5 from 7 – 9 pm
Stephen Ave
When you think of Chinook Blast, this event should come to mind! It embodies everything the festival is about. From roaming performers, light displays, and DJs on the stage, the night and city will completely transform before your eyes.
Chinook Blast Asian Market
February 3 from 5 – 9 pm, February 4 from 12 – 8 pm, and February 5 from 10 am – 3 pm
City Hall Atrium
Not only can you find Asian exhibitors featuring their traditional and cultural wear, products, and activities, but the entire atrium will be decked out in bright and colourful lantern posts and light displays.
Lantern Parade
February 3 from 6 – 7 pm
City Hall Atrium through Olympic Plaza to Arts Commons
Welcome the Lunar New Year while exploring the Asian Market with the Lantern Parade. See lanterns from various Asian and Calgary communities loop the route before returning to the City Hall Atrium for the market.
MakeFashion x Indi City Wearable Tech Fashion Show
February 3 from 5 – 6 pm
Central Library
MakeFashion and Indi City have collaborated on a runway event that showcases the intersection between traditional Pow Wow regalia and technology.

Nordic at Night

Fort Calgary
Catch this once-in-a-festival event! The East Village Nordic Loop will transform into an all-ages, cross-country ski glow party. Bring your skis, and we’ll provide the glow!
The Gray Jay & The Magpie: A Puppet Pop Up
February 4 from 1 – 3 pm
Central Library
Come by for a family-friendly pop-up where everyone will get a copy of the Grey Jay & the Magpie story, make a puppet, and get a link to follow along to the 10-chapter puppet performance on YouTube.
Mini Shred Park
February 4 and 5 from 12 – 5 pm
Olympic Plaza
Kids 3 – 10 can learn how to shred with certified coaches who will pull kids on a snowboard with handles.
YUKI: A Winter Celebration of Taiko
February 5 at 2 pm
Nickle Theatre, Mount Royal University
YUKI will showcase Japanese taiko drumming with Yama no Oto, Calgary’s Taiko Ensemble, along with other guest performers.
