The Great Canadian Kilt Skate is back in Calgary. After two years of Covid cancellations, we’re returning to Olympic Plaza as part of the final day celebrations of the Calgary Chinook Winter Blast festival.
Come join us for free hot chocolate. Warm yourself by the outdoor fire. Enjoy the bagpipers, Scottish choir and highland dancers. And strap on your skates for a tour around the plaza.
We’re back for the first community skate since the Covid outbreak, but you don’t need to wait until February 12 to celebrate your inner scot with bare knees and ice. Participate in the Home Edition of the Great Canadian Kilt Skate by taking to the ice wherever and whenever you want. Please hashtag social media posts with #KiltSkate2023CGY to be included in Calgary’s entry in the contest to determine the 2023 Great Canadian Kilt Skate Capital of Canada.
