Come down to Olympic Plaza to learn about, watch, and try a variety of unique winter sports!

Sport Calgary is partnering with community sport organizations to showcase the winter sport opportunities available to Calgarians at this FREE and family-friendly event.

In the evening, join us for a skating party under the lights,

NO SKATE? NO HELMET? NO PROBLEM !
Visit the Sport Calgary tent and we will get you all geared up for FREE

Schedule (start time):

1-5PM: Try Ski Jumping  (kids)
1 PM: Try Hockey  (kids)
1 PM: Try Para Ice Hockey (all ages)
2 PM: Try Ringette
3 PM: Solstice Synchronized Skating (Demonstration)
4 PM: Try Luge
4 PM: Learn To Skate .
5 PM: FREE Family Skating

Alberta Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Association is a non-profit organization in started in 1991. The organization promotes, encourages and supports the competitive and recreational ski jumping and nordic combined programs in Alberta.

Always wanted to try hockey? Come and Join us on the ice at Olympic Plaza and get the kids to Try Hockey (kids 12 and under). At the same time, if you think para ice hockey seems easy, come over and try it! You need skates or helmets? Come EARLY and we will help you!

TRY Ringette

Ringette has some very distinct differences to other ice sports. In fact, while it looks a bit like hockey, it more closely resembles lacrosse or basketball in terms of its offensive and defensive play! Some can try ringette with us. You need skates or helmets? Come EARLY and we will help you!

Ringette is a uniquely Canadian winter sport that’s as challenging as it is enjoyable. Created in 1963 in Canada, it has since been dubbed the fastest sport on ice.
Ringette is a great choice if you’re looking for a safe competitive sport for your child. They’ll learn to skate, pass, and play in a team—all while making friends and having fun.
Northwest Ringette‘s membership lives the Northwest and the large portion of the Northeast quadrants of Calgary.
Two other associations, BowView Ringette and South Calgary Ringette, represent the other parts of Calgary.

Solstice is committed to providing quality synchronized skating programs in a positive and supportive environment, while encouraging skaters to achieve their own personal level of highest performance.

Synchronized Skating is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers as one unit, executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow. Synchronized Skating has grown in popularity around the world as it provides a great place for skaters to become part of a team and skate for life.

Solstice is home to several teams from Beginner to Adult 3!
