This winter, the city’s premiere hackathon is back with YYCHacks Winter Edition. Kicking off from February 3-5, participants will have the opportunity to create innovative software that captures Calgary as a Winter City destination, network with tech industry insiders, all while competing for real rewards. YYCHacks Winter Edition takes place during Calgary’s only all-winter festival Chinook Blast, and is being held at Calgary’s home for innovators, the Platform Innovation Centre. The aim of the hackathon will be to activate Calgary as a winter city destination for tourists, and engage citizens in winter activities.

Teams will be encouraged with established industry support, including developers, entrepreneurs, and Calgary’s tech leaders. YYCHacks has had some of the highest participation rates, and follow through rates of any hackathons held in Calgary, and this is in no small part due to the unique way that participants are encouraged, mentored, and supported throughout the hackathon weekend.
