These fat biking events are new to Calgary and as direct a result of SNO’s efforts with the City of Calgary to expand access to the golf course from cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to fat bikes. This winter, SNO is maintaining a new network of approximately 8 kilometres of fat bike-specific trails enabling more people to enjoy winter activities, without conflict with existing users.
Our objective is to curate a unique experience for those who are new to the sport of fat biking, while also helping people access the activity in a safe and fun manner.
We are hosting three (3) single-day events, where we can reach new participants and also encourage returning riders to work on their skills through a series of station-based lessons and skills sessions and then guided trail rides. During these events, the trails will also be open to the public for use.
These are free events but a voluntary donation, to support SNO and the trails they’re maintaining, would be appreciated. Additionally, Bow Cycle has agreed to provide Norco fat bikes for demo use.
