  • Alternative Market centred around local community vendors accepting Calgary Dollars. The Market will include multiple local vendors with a variety of goods, a Repair Exchange Station and Indigenous Wheel of Wisdom programming.
  • Participants will have an opportunity to join and earn Calgary Dollars as well as spend some at the Market. Calgary Dollars is a paper and digital complementary currency and has an app to make exchanges. People can buy, sell and exchange with other Calgarians!
  • The Repair Exchange station will feature information on the Repair Exchange Calgary program and a number of fixers demonstrating and teaching how to repair items. (People will be welcome to bring certain items in and participate using our tools).
  • Circular Economy Product Lifecycle mapping activity.
  • The “Wheel of Wisdom” is a dynamic, interactive tool designed to help participants explore the profound connections between the 7 Grandfather and Medicine Wheel Teachings, while addressing modern climate change issues and solutions. As participants spin the wheel, they land on different teachings that prompt discussions and reflections on how these principles can inform sustainable practices and community resilience. For instance, landing on “Respect” might lead to conversations about honouring every part of the Earth and its ecosystems, while “Wisdom” could inspire innovative strategies for resource management. Each segment of the wheel highlights how Traditional Indigenous Knowing and Learning can guide contemporary action, fostering a holistic understanding of environmental stewardship that honours both Indigenous heritage and the urgent need for climate action through Land-based teachings. This engaging format encourages collaboration, creativity, and a deepened appreciation for the interconnectedness of all life.
  • Colourful and vibrant decorations, music and fun!
  • Participatory activities for all ages
