Benjamin Longman is a non-binary multi-instrumentalist from London, UK now residing in Calgary. Since the release of their debut EP The Ghost Months Vol. 1 in 2015, Benjamin’s brand of folk-forward art-pop has gained a reputation for delivering intricate lyricism paired with sophisticated musicianship, culminating in delicate and vulnerable live performances that reward an attentive listener. Their most recent release, 2018’s The Garden Of Song, is a collection of adapted poetic works which marries the luscious imagery of turn-of-the-century Romanticism with sonic textures heavily inspired by the ’60s and ‘70s folk revival. Longman is also renowned for versatile collaborations; notably 2019’s “True Love Will Find You In The End” with Dutch psych-pop artist SOMEONE and 2020’s “Canyons” with Calgarian avant-electronica outfit Hello Moth. As a session musician, Longman has performed with a range of artists including Astral Swans, Emily Triggs, Jann Arden, Bella White, Evan Freeman and Carter Felker.
